Broederliefde expo

From Thursday November 21 to Sunday November 24 you are welcome in the Koopgoot for a unique exhibition about the group of friends Broederliefde! In recent years, Broederliefde has conquered the Netherlands with their mix of hip-hop and Caribbean dance music.

Gold and platinum records

As a Rotterdam resident, the name Broederliefde probably sounds familiar. This group of childhood friends – Emms, Jerr, Sjaf, Mella and Edson – decided to make music together after their dream of becoming a professional football player expired. Their diverse cultural backgrounds (Cape Verdean, Dominican and Antillean) form the basis of their unique sound, which they have refined over the years.

Broederliefde has built up an impressive career with countless awards, gold and platinum records and sold-out shows at Ahoy and the Sparta stadium, among others. Their album Hard Work Pays Off 2 (2016) set a Dutch record by being at number 1 for 14 weeks. On release day, the songs were streamed almost 700,000 times on Spotify, resulting in each song ending up in the Single Top 100 - which is very unique in the Netherlands. With hits like “Jungle,” “Mi No Lob,” and “Ik Was Al Binnen” Broederliefde became a fixture in the Dutch music scene. "Jungle" even became the most streamed song of 2016, surpassing international stars such as Drake, Justin Bieber and Coldplay – a first for a Dutch group.

In the Goot

On December 21, Broederliefde will celebrate their thousandth performance in Rotterdam Ahoy. But first they can be found in the centre of Rotterdam – in the Koopgoot!

To promote their new single, a location in the Koopgoot will be transformed into the city's Broederliefde hotspot from November 21 to 24. Fans and passers-by can record and share Broederliefde's latest TikTok dance here. The location will be completely decorated in Broederliefde style, with a striking backdrop and a mini exhibition that highlights their way to the thousandth performance. This initiative, in collaboration with Top Notch, offers fans a unique look at Broederliefde's success story.
