On Saturday, October 7, 2023, between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, the Rotterdam Koopgoot transforms in a meeting place for dog lovers and their four-legged friends, in honor of Animal day. Expect an abundance of brightly dressed dogs of all shapes and sizes during this unique event.

Afrovibes Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year! The festival takes place from October 4 to 15 in several cities and is in Rotterdam at Maas theater and dance, Theater Zuidplein and the Kunsthal.
Afrovibes brings theater, dance, music and more from current makers and artists from both the African continent and the African diaspora in Europe. This edition, Afrovibes presents a programme around the theme Liquid Traces with performances from Rwanda, Tanzania, Ivory Coast and South Africa, among others.

Still feel like having a summer party? On October 7 you can go to the second edition of Maas Open Air. This is an open-air festival in the Maaskantine. Both international and local artists play the last summer jams of the year here, such as Max Dean (UK), Locklead, Jamback, Boss Priester, Kim April, Migesa, B Rhythm and Makari. There is also a silent disco area on the beach.
The Swan Market will continue as usual, even after the summer months. To ensure that you can shop in a dry and warm place, the market takes place in October in the Van Nelle Fabriek. From 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM you can shop the most unique items from creative entrepreneurs here. Think of things for your home, beautiful jewelry and nice gifts. A small contribution of €3 is requested for entrance.
From October 13 there will be a new exhibition in the Maritime Museum called 'Verankerd?!' (in English: 'Anchored?!'). This is about migration by sea and arriving somewhere where you are unknown. A special exhibition, in which personal and moving stories of young Rotterdammers are shared.
