From January 30 to February 9 it's time again for the best film festival there is: the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR)! During IFFR, Rotterdam cinemas, theatres and arthouses open their doors to a wide range of films from all over the world.
The great diversity of the films is typical of the IFFR. During this 54rd edition they will show multiple movies by world-famous producers from home and abroad, as well as promising young filmmakers, are given a stage during IFFR.
The IFFR 2025 programme is online! There are a lot of intriguing, interesting and diverse films to watch again this year. Like every year, IFFR has put this together with care. In addition, there are various filters in the programme on the IFFR website to view the selection for the competitions, prizes and IFFR programs such as RTM, Harbour, Limelight, Bright future, Cinema Regained and Short & Mid-length. RTM Pitch is part of RTM, IFFR's Rotterdam programme, which puts films and makers from the Maas city in the spotlight. During this programme, all rooms of LantarenVenster will be filled with the latest short and feature films, Rotterdam classics, events, talks, audiovisual art, video clips and installations. RTM is also a meeting place for makers, where knowledge and experiences are shared.
There is a great opportunity for Rotterdam filmmakers! The IFFR invites filmmakers to submit their film plans for a chance to win €20,000 for the realization of this film. The winning film will premiere during IFFR in January 2026 as part of the RTM programme.
