On March 1, 2025, it's time again: Museum Night Rotterdam. Explore Rotterdam's museums in a unique way. From 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM, you have access to dozens of cultural hotspots in Rotterdam.
The programme of Museumnacht010 is full of exhibitions, performances, workshops, taste explosions and more. It is impossible to visit all events during Museumnacht in Rotterdam. The offer is too big! We help you and share a number of highlights below.
WORM will host various exhibitions and performances, with all doors, nooks and crannies opening up. Conny Janssen Danst will perform twice during Museum Night with NEXT in their UBIK space. A production that radiates urban energies with elements borrowed from folk, mime, breakdance, commercial dance, ballet, contemporary dance and cartoons.
WORM will also be celebrating spring. For example, a selection of local artists will be turning the knobs with multicultural and multidisciplinary performances. A place where traditional Indonesian puppetry installations meet contemporary dance performances, punk shows and Radio WORM Matchmaking DJs.
Don't miss the Wayang Mimmpi installation either. The S/ash Gallery host Ratri Notosudirdjo presents a shadow puppetry that combines storytelling through shadows, light, sound and movement, inspired to connect stories that were spread by the Indonesian repatriation after 1948.
This year, Kunstinstituut Melly is joining forces with the Hiphophuis. At Kunstinstituut Melly, you can get acquainted with the current exhibitions Pick Up Notes with work by Liz Johnson Artur, Madiha Sikander and Zara Julius.
In the Hiphophuis, QISSA is organising an exhibition with seven talented young artists, all of whom are exploring the theme Home from their own art form. You can also participate in the Roller Skate Disco, where the DJs will provide energy and the right music all evening. No skates? No problem, you can rent them.
In addition to QISSA and the Roller Skate Disco, the other floors of the Hiphophuis are filled with art, activities and more!
You can also visit the Kunsthal during Museumnacht010. One of the exhibitions you don't want to miss this year is DIVA, which celebrates the unparalleled power and boundless, feminine creativity of iconic artists. Using over sixty looks and costume designs by world-famous designers, worn by artists including Maria Callas, Josephine Baker, Marilyn Monroe, Tina Turner, Shirley Bassey, Cher, Elton John, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Björk and Billie Eilish, the exhibition shows how these divas push boundaries with their stagecraft and ensure a lasting impact on society.
For an audiovisual experience, artist and composer Boris Acket created 'Spaces Between Lines'. This work runs right through the Kunsthal building and into HALL 6, for which Boris used textiles, light and air currents to make the invisible spaces between the lines of the building visible.
Of course you want to be there! For Museumnacht010 you buy one ticket, with which you visit all participating locations. Click here for a ticket!
