On Sunday, November 17, the spectacular premiere of Sister Act took place in the new Luxor Theater in Rotterdam. Thanks to its overwhelming success, it has already been announced that this heavenly hit musical will return to Rotterdam in March.
Ten years after its last performance, the international hit musical Sister Act returned to the theater. After several weeks of tryouts, the performance had a successful premiere in the new Luxor Theater on November 17. In the weeks leading up to the premiere, the shows already attracted more than 20,000 enthusiastic visitors, and since then the demand for tickets has skyrocketed.
The continued interest shows that Rotterdam has not had enough of this swinging musical. That is why MediaLane Theater, Stichting Theateralliantie and Luxor Theater have decided to bring Sister Act to Rotterdam again in March 2025. Ticket sales have now started, so be quick!
Sister Act tells the heartwarming story of disco diva Deloris Van Cartier, whose life is turned upside down when she accidentally witnesses a murder. To escape danger, she goes into hiding in an unthinkable place for a disco diva: a monastery. There, Deloris not only discovers a new side of herself, but also a special bond with a group of exuberant nuns. Together they transform the traditional nun choir into a swinging success.
This feel-good musical about friendship, personal growth and finding your own voice is brought to life by a star cast, including April Darby and Sanne Wallis de Vries. With music by Emmy, Grammy, Tony and Oscar winner Alan Menken, Sister Act is an explosion of humor, music and... nuns!
