Good news! Skating rink Rotterdam returns for the 12th time. This means that you can get your skates out again in the winter of 2024 for a round in the 'tunnel'.
It has been known for some time that the Rotterdam Skating Rink will have to look for a new location. It is therefore exciting every year whether the 'tunnel' returns to the well-known location on the Toepad.
In order to continue to provide everyone in Rotterdam with ice skating fun in the coming years, there is a great need to move the skating rink. Schaatsbaan Rotterdam is therefore looking for a sustainable solution together with the municipality. “We are very pleased that Alderman Zeegers commissioned a large-scale location study for Schaatsbaan Rotterdam in January. We hope that there will be more clarity about this soon," said Tijs Nederlof, director at Schaatsbaan Rotterdam. Nesselande was previously mentioned as a possible location, but Nederlof now considers it very unlikely that this will happen.
Regardless of a new or current location, it is a certainty that Schaatsbaan Rotterdam will open its doors for the 12th time this winter. In the meantime, they are working hard to make Schaatsbaan Rotterdam a skating rink for everyone. A course that Schaatsbaan Rotterdam has been working on for the past 11 years and will do its best to realize more and more.
