Winter fun at Schaatsbaan Rotterdam

This year the Skating Rink was also open for the first time during the autumn holidays. Missed it? Don't worry! This winter you can enjoy it again: the Skating Rink is open for no less than three months, including the iconic 400-metre track and the covered food area.

Grand opening with special opening promotion

On November 23, Schaatsbaan Rotterdam will open its doors again for three months of skating fun, complete with silent discos, curling, group packages, kids events and educational skating lessons! This winter you can enjoy everything the skating rink has to offer from Saturday, November 23, 2024 to March 1, 2025. The official opening is accompanied by a festive program for young and old, the first noren hour (at 8:00 am) and skating at a reduced rate.

Skating from 1 euro

On the occasion of the Grand Opening, Schaatsbaan Rotterdam offers visitors the opportunity to skate for only 1 euro! You can get on the ice between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM for just 1 euro. After 5:00 PM a reduced rate of 6 euros applies. A fun, accessible start to the winter season for everyone!

What else is on the programme?

• First noren hour: noren riders can enter the 400-metre track one hour earlier. Between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM the track is only open to fast riders.
• Trial lessons: Visitors can take trial lessons in long track skating and figure skating from the Duosport skating school.
  
• Children's activities: There are various games and crafts options especially for young visitors, including curling4kids and ice go-karts.
  
• Live music: Hillsback Brassband provides energetic performances on Winterplein.
  
• Unique skating experience: From 4:00 PM the ice will be spectacularly illuminated by the iconic rainbow lights.
  
• Silent disco on the ice: The day ends with a silent disco with 2 DJs.

You will soon be able to listen to the song Heel Rotterdam Schaatst (the Whole of Rotterdam Skates) on Spotify! This special song was specially produced by Schaatsbaan Rotterdam in honour of the opening. During the Grand Opening, the Skating Rink wants to record a video clip with as many visitors as possible.
