The nominees of the Entree Awards have been announced. Eight of these come from Rotterdam and the surrounding area, including cocktail bar Duke of Tokyo and the new surf hotspot RiF010. This makes them one of the best new catering companies in the Netherlands. The winners will be announced on December 2!
Which locations have been nominated? Rotterdam has a new surfing paradise in the centrer with RiF010. There is now a swimming pool on the Steigersgracht with a wave installation and a specially shaped bottom for wave surfing, kayaking and bodyboarding. This new hotspot has been nominated for the Best New Entertainment Concept award. In addition, the cocktail bars Duke of Tokyo, nominated for their karaoke concept, and Bar Break are also contenders in the entertainment category.
In the Best New Restobar category, Masa aan de 's-Gravendijkwal and Café Kiem at the Proveniersstraat have been nominated for the prestigious catering award. Several restaurants have also been nominated: Bar Bù on the Van Vollenhovenstraat, from owners Robin Bravenboer, Merijn Sips and Christiaan Berger; 1NUL8 Basement at the 1st Westewagenhof, from owners Fabian Loveriks and Floris van der Sluis; and restaurant Mairie in Berkel en Rodenrijs, owned by Letty Wuyts and Sam Oosterveer.
The nominations of the annual Entree Awards are an important indicator of developments in the catering industry. The entrance awards are presented to new or renovated catering establishments that set the tone for trends in the Netherlands and worldwide. Iris Kranenburg, jury chairman and editor-in-chief of Entree: “The nominees show that a successful concept can be created despite the staff shortage and rising costs. They are an example for entrepreneurs within and outside the industry.” There are a total of 54 nominees in 11 categories.
