You can of course enjoy great shopping in the centre of Rotterdam. Whether you are looking for new sneakers, a nice gift or nourishing skincare, the stores in our city have it all! To make your shopping experience even more fun, we share a fun fashion route through the centre!
This route starts on the Coolsingel. This is the boulevard of Rotterdam, which connects the Hofplein with the Leuvehaven and links the Meent to the Witte de Withstraat. For a good start to the fashion route, first get a delicious coffee to go, chai latte or healthy smoothie at Served. Then you have enough energy for the day!
Are you a real sports fan? Then Decathlon is the perfect first stop to score a pair of new sports shoes or sportswear. Then we go to a store that you really shouldn't miss during a day of shopping: The Bijenkorf, the largest department store in Rotterdam.
De Bijenkorf simply has everything: an extensive shoe department, beautiful designer clothing, a wide range of beauty brands, unique home accessories, a café, jewelry in every price range and much more.
This fashion route is of course not complete without the Koopgoot! This runs under the Coolsingel and is the place where you will find big names such as H&M, ZARA, MINISO, HEMA and Urban Outfitters, but also great local stores such as KKEC or Munie & Co. So something for everyone! Did you know that you can also enter the Koopgoot via the Bijenkorf?
Are you coming by bike? Then it is also useful to start your route at the Koopgoot. There has been a bicycle shed here since October 2024! The entrance to the bicycle area is located on Westewagenstraat, on the -1 floor of the AIR building (formerly V&D). The free storage offers space for various types of bicycles and there is a public toilet!
Walk out of the Koopgoot at the Lijnbaan side to continue shopping. The Lijnbaan is just as big an icon as the Koopgoot. It was the first shopping promenade in the Netherlands and the first car-free shopping street in Europe!
You will find all kinds of different retail chains on the Lijnbaan. From international brands such as Bershka and MANGO to the quintessential Dutch G-star RAW. Have you ever visited the official Ray-Ban boutique? This store is not to be missed; the striking, reflective red interior immediately draws you in. This store offers more than just (sun)glasses. Did you know, for example, that you can have your eyes measured here?
Completely done with shopping? Or can you go on for a while? Then walk out of the Lijnbaan, past the Bershka, and you will arrive at the Kruiskade. De Kruiskade is the place where you can buy beautiful (designer) items and receive fantastic service. From beautiful care products at Skins Cosmetics, beautiful high-end watches at IWC Schaffhausen or Schaap & Citroen, to special frames at Akkerman Eye Fashion. You will find it all on this street!
We'll just make one more stop! Cross Karel Doormanstraat to Central Plaza. If you have kids, Central Plaza is worth a visit for the two Superstellar Kids stores alone. The Superstellar Kids store of 400 m2 has the trendiest clothing for children from 4 to 16 years old, with brands such as Burberry, Dsquared and Fendi.
There is a special baby store for the youngest trendsetters or future moms and dads. In addition to the most beautiful baby clothes, you will find exclusive strollers from Fendi and Versace and a range of hip, trendy diaper bags.
Looking for a gift? You can't go wrong with a perfume. At Bargello Parfums in Central Plaza they sell women's, men's and unisex fragrances, but also interior fragrances, soap, creams and body mists.
Got hungry after all that shopping? In Central Plaza you will find The Gallery Kitchen. While you relax and enjoy the homely atmosphere, you can spend hours watching all the people rushing to and from the station. Via the button below you will find more dining tips in Central Plaza, a nice end to your day of shopping!
