Shop the new adaptive clothing line at Primark Rotterdam

Primark adaptieve collectie

Primark has launched a stylish and affordable new clothing line designed specifically for people with disabilities. The 49-piece collection features fashionable and functional pieces for both men and women and has been developed in collaboration with award-winning adaptive fashion designer Victoria Jenkins, founder of Unhidden.

The collection is available in 96 stores in 10 countries, including four Primark locations in the Netherlands: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and The Hague.

Fashion without barriers

Inspired by Primark’s best-selling collection, the collection features basics such as trench coats, T-shirts, jumpers and jeans. Each garment is equipped with clever adaptations to make everyday life easier for people with disabilities. These include magnetic zips and snaps, waistband loops for easy dressing and hidden openings for tubes, stomas or catheters. There are also designs specifically tailored to wheelchair users, such as shorter hems and adapted fits.

The collection is not only functional, but also stylish and accessible. “People with disabilities face obstacles every day. Clothing should not be part of that,” says Victoria Jenkins. “Primark’s Adaptive collection offers garments that are not only functional but also fashionable and affordable. I hope this move inspires the industry to continue working towards greater accessibility and inclusivity for everyone.”

Affordable choices

The collection includes a wide range of timeless pieces, complemented by nightwear and underwear. Some highlights include:

  • Women’s Trench Coat: a beautiful coat with magnetic pocket closures, zips on the sleeves and an adjustable hem with snaps. A shorter version is available for seated users.
  • Men’s Oxford Shirt: a classic blue pinstripe shirt with side seam openings and snaps on the sleeves. The seated version has shorter hems and sleeves.
  • Men’s Straight Leg Jeans: with magnetic buttons, waistband pullers and special pockets for tubes. The seated version has a modified fit for extra comfort.
  • Women’s Tracksuit: a comfortable two-piece suit with a magnetic zip and larger pockets for medical equipment.

Primark is committed to inclusivity

With this collection, Primark is underlining its commitment to inclusivity in the fashion world. In addition to developing accessible clothing, the fashion chain is also ensuring improved shopping experiences. For example, there are adapted fitting rooms and checkouts especially for people with disabilities. The company is working with leading organisations such as the Business Disability Forum and AccessAble to make shopping environments more inclusive.

With this new adaptive collection, Primark is taking an important step towards a fashion world in which everyone can find clothing that is not only comfortable and functional, but also stylish and affordable. The collection is available in selected stores from now on and promises to be a game changer for adaptive fashion!
