Every Rotterdammer knows this green gem: The Park in Rotterdam. This city park with beautiful water features, lawns, beautiful trees and flowers can be found on the edge of the centre, near the Euromast.
The Park, also sometimes called the Euromast Park because of its location, was designed in 1852 by father and son Zocher. It is a beautiful park with beautiful water features, lawns, old trees and blooming flowers.

When the weather is nice, it is wonderful to have a picnic in Het Park at one of the lakes, under a tree or in the sun. There are many flower gardens that are well maintained and when the weather is nice, the park is full of people who come to enjoy the weather.
Are you coming to have a barbecue? Open fire is prohibited, but there is a special barbecue zone. In addition, the barbecue must remain at least 20 centimetres above the grass and two metres away from trees and shrubs and five metres away from the water. Of course, you must leave your spot tidy after the picnic or barbecue.
In Het Park you are welcome at Dudok in Het Park. Located in a national monument from 1750 with a beautiful castle garden, Dudok in Het Park has a wonderfully romantic atmosphere. The brasserie is open from Tuesday to Sunday when the weather is nice for a delicious breakfast, lunch, drinks or just for coffee or tea with a famous Dudok apple pie.
Or take a seat at Parqiet. The ideal place to relax with a breakfast. For example, order the Le Parqiet breakfast platter with a boiled egg, toast with two cheeses, croissant with butter and jam, a glass of yogurt with granola and fresh orange juice.
Breakfast can be ordered until 12:00. Not really an early bird? Not a problem. You are welcome here every day until 6:00 PM for a casual park atmosphere. Ordering a beer or wine is also possible, just like something tasty from SUE or something to have a drink.
For a real star dinner, Parkheuvel is the place to be. In 2002, this was the first restaurant in the Netherlands to receive three Michelin stars. After current chef Erik van Loo took over the restaurant in 2006, he had to prove that he was worth the three stars and went back to one star. However, this did not prevent him from receiving two stars again in 2009.
Many events take place in Het Park. Consider, for example, the Day and Weekend of Romantic Music and Heerenhuys Concerts.
During the Romantic Music Weekend you can enjoy a varied range of traditional classical solo performances from top musicians to ensembles in all kinds of compositions. You can also take trips to different music streams with theater here and there. In short, a day with a relaxed character where you decide which music you listen to.
In addition to music events, it is often also possible to play sports in Het Park. For example, think of a lovely yoga class.
It is wonderful to walk in The Park near the Euromast. After all, it was specially designed as a public walking place. The main route extends from the entrance at the Norwegian Church to the statue of Wilhelmina, and from the Dudok in the Park entrance to the entrance on Parklaan.
The main route of Het Park is currently being renovated. During the renovation, the paths will be rebuilt, with the asphalt being replaced by semi-paving. There will also be new planting and new places for bicycle parking.
