A large-scale renovation is planned for the cafes on the north side of Stadhuisplein. The building will be made more sustainable and will get an improved appearance!
In November this year, four cafes and restaurants on Stadhuisplein will undergo a complete renovation. The aim is to make Stadhuisplein more sustainable and even more attractive for both Rotterdam residents and tourists.
This concerns café Plein, café 't Fust, Coconuts and Amigo. All four businesses are undergoing a complete renovation on the outside and inside, making the buildings more sustainable. In addition, the plinth will be expanded with a soundproof conservatory, and the floors will be made suitable for high-quality working environments. The appearance of the building will also improve. Thanks to the renovation, the view of the beautiful town hall will become even more beautiful, putting this historic location even more in the spotlight.
Every Rotterdammer knows the iconic Stadhuisplein, one of the most recognizable squares in the heart of Rotterdam. The square borders the Coolsingel and the Lijnbaan and offers a versatile mix of restaurants, bars, shops and homes. In addition, the square breathes history. For example, the Monument for all fallen 1940 - 1945 is located here, which is in memory of all Rotterdam residents who died in the struggle for liberation during the Second World War. Remembrance Day is held here every year on May 4.
