Do you choose to come to Rotterdam Centre by car but do not want to be surprised by road works? Then the Municipality of Rotterdam has developed a handy page for you.

Here you will find all the information you need to follow your route without worries. On the Rotterdam Bereikbaar page you will find all important, current and planned work in the city. When is a road closed? And what diversions are currently available?

Roadworks in Rotterdam

Rotterdam is of course a big city. Things like road works are therefore inevitable to keep the city in tip top condition. For example, it may be that important maintenance needs to be carried out, or that work is being done on the accessibility and traffic safety of the city. There are also a lot of renovation jobs planned when it comes to tunnels, bridges and viaducts on the highways around Rotterdam.

Nuisance to traffic

It may be annoying at times, but ultimately necessary for a safe trip! To minimize disruption as much as possible, work will be carried out at night or outside rush hour if possible. Some locations will be worked on for a long time, but some will be worked on for a short time. Because a lot is happening in Rotterdam, it is not possible to visualize all the activities. But the most important ones are certainly there!

Parking in Rotterdam Centrre

Arrived in Rotterdam? Then of course you want to be able to park your car somewhere. There are various options for this, with associated rates. The cheapest option is parking at a P+R site. These sites are located outside the centre and close to public transport. If you park your car here and continue your journey to the centre by public transport, parking is free. View here how many P+R spaces are currently available per site.

Another option is parking in a garage. There is a distinction between city garages (owned by the municipality) and private garages. Useful to know: you can pay in garages with cash, debit card or credit card.

Finally, there is the option to park on the street. You then simply pay at a payment terminal or using an app. Examples of such apps are Parkmobile, Yellowbrick, EasyPark, Park-line, SMSParking and ANWB parking. The rates for on-street parking vary per zone area.

All information about parking in Rotterdam Centre can be found via the button below.

Traveling by public transport

Will it be very difficult for you to reach Rotterdam by car? Then the city offers a lot of possibilities. The metro, train, tram and bus are ready to take you to your destination. Thanks to an extensive (underground) network, for example, the metro takes you to all corners of the city and stops right in front of the biggest attractions in the centre. Are you coming by train? Then you simply get off at Rotterdam Central Station and walk into the centre!
