Have you spotted the three iconic displays on the Lijnbaan yet? Each has its own creative interpretation. And the cool thing is that the content changes regularly. Discover the new autumn display!
Did you know that these displays are a throwback to the 1950s, when the Lijnbaan opened as the first car-free shopping area in the world?
At the time, the walking area featured various display cases with all kinds of beautiful things to entice customers to enter the shops. Ultimately, the showcases disappeared from the street scene of the Lijnbaan. At the initiative of the real estate owners and retailers of the Lijnbaan, they can be found on the Lijnbaan again.
The design is inspired by the original displays from the 1950s, but the content is different. At the time it was a kind of extra shop window in front of the shopkeepers' doors, while now they show changing exhibitions to the shoppers.
One display case is completely dedicated to the season. Now that autumn is in full swing, it was time for a new interpretation! Come by and enjoy the completely new autumn display.

The design of the autumn display was created with a creative touch from Rotterdam Centre and Charlotte van Otterloo. Rotterdam maker Charlotte van Otterloo has transformed the display case into an autumn vibe. She combines different disciplines in her work, from illustrations and animations to installations and exhibitions that appeal to young and old.
